Asian Makeup Techniques
Asian women have slightly different makeup tips that they should follow to look their best. Here are some Asian makeup techniques to get you started.
A non-oily base, preferably a light, liquid foundation with some yellow undertones will spread nicely on your face instead of looking unnatural like a pink or red-based foundation would. Most foundations at retail stores are going to have pinkish bases, even if they don't actually say that, so you might have to spend some time looking.
Color should be swept on the apples of the cheeks, but don't use very much blush and keep it a very subtle color, though a bit of shimmer in it is fine. For most Asian women, makeup techniques should focus on the eyes.
Eyebrows should be kept groomed and an arch coaxed out of them to give definition to your eyes. Most Asian ladies don't have much of an eyebrow arch naturally, but pluck your brows at least once a week to keep the shaping noticeable, and fill in any thin areas you might have with a sharp eye shadow brush or a soft eyeliner pencil.
Black or a dark colored eyeliner is going to be the most important part of your normal, daily makeup routine. Be prepared to spend a few minutes meticulously working the eye liner actually into your upper lash line as well as into the visible eyelid area. Use short, slanted strokes to work the color into the base of your eyelashes, and extend the line slightly past the outside corners of your eyes to visually reflect the angle of your eyes.
Brush on a light color - a pale white yellow often looks good, on your brow bone right under your eyebrows to increase the apparent depth of your face, and smudge a little bit of a dark taupe color onto the outer edges of your eye lids to create more depth. There, now you're looking stunning!

Eye Makeup Tips
Applying eye makeup correctly can be a daunting task. While occasionally you may want a dramatic eye, other times you just want to look refreshed after a late night. There are several eye makeup tips you can use to ensure your eye makeup looks perfect.
For a more dramatic eye, apply a neutral-colored, darker eyeshadow in the crease of your eyelid. Shades of brown are the most natural looking. Smooth a lighter shade of the color onto the eyelid, blending the two colors. Use a light shade of eye shadow as a highlight on the brow bone, just below the eyebrow. Line eyes with a brown or black eyeliner, using a thin line on bottom and a slightly thicker line on top. Follow up with one or two coats of mascara on upper lashes only.
To make eyes look refreshed and alert here are a few additional makeup tips. Skip a lot of heavy eye shadow and opt for a single light shade across the entire eyelid. Skip the eyeliner, as it can accentuate any redness in your eyes. Apply any type of highlighting makeup to the inner corners of the eye to catch the light and brighten up the eye area. For a great highlighting product, many women swear by Yves Saint Laurent's Touche Eclat. Mascara is a great product for helping to open up your eyes and accentuate their natural beauty. Apply a single swipe of the product on upper lashes. This will enhance your look without drawing too much attention toward your tired eyes. Another common eye makeup trick is to use a cream or pale flesh colored eye pencil and to use it to line your lower lash line or the inner corners of your eyes.
Regardless of which eye makeup look you choose, practicing that look will help you be able to create it more quickly and easily. You'll also be able to customize the shades and application techniques to be most flattering to your individual eye color, shape and personality.
