Black eyeshadow is considered the classic color. When applying eyeshadow, keep in mind that dark colors make a shadow, while light colors highlight. Close your eye and apply a decent amount of black eyeshadow on the lower lid. The lower lid starts at the lashes and ends at the crease of the lid. Next, use your finger and dip it into the black eyeshadow. Lightly run your finger over your lid at the crease and continue with long strokes to your brow bone. Your brow bone should be the lightest gray, so that the eyeshadow goes from dark to light. Finally, blend your eyeshadow with your brush to create a smooth changeover from dark to light.
