Eyeshadow Design Techniques

Eyeshadow is one of the most commonly used cosmetics all over the world. Though it looks really general if applied properly using some simple application techniques, it can really accentuate your eyes. Women use eyeshadow with almost every kind of outfit, be it for a party, a night out or just a daily casual dress. Applying your eyeshadow using the correct technique can always make you stand out of the crowd. Let’s take this very common situation. When most women go to work if they wear makeup its usually light, so in other words you should apply a very simple eyeshadow with your office attire. But it happens a lot of times that suddenly one of your friends calls and says that they’ll pick you up after work for a dinner party. In these kinds of situations, instead of taking off your full eye makeup and then starting over, you can accentuate your daytime look by suing a few tricks.

Choose the powder eyeshadow – one shade lighter than the shade you were wearing at daytime. Brush this over the upper eyelid area, extend it into the crease of your eye and blend over the lower part of your brow bone area. Now take the brush and apply the same lighter shade under the lower lashes as well.  After this take a little darker shade than your day time color. Brush a line of shadow along the lashes of the upper eyelid using this shade. This will give an emphasizing look to your eyes. You can also use pencil eyeliner to accentuate the upper eyelashes. Just make sure that you keep the line very close to the lashes. Now when your eyeshadow colors are applied, brush on a coat of mascara and thou are finished. You are now ready for your evening party.

If you want to create an exotic eye look using smoky gray shades, apply a little loose face powder below your eyes. It prevents your eyes from the smudges from darker eyeshadow colors. Apply a light pale pink shade on your upper eyelid and brow bone area. It’s better if you apply the smoky gray color in the crease of the eyelid. Now slowly sweep it under the lashes of the lower lid from one corner to the other corner, smudging it for extra drama. Apply a darker shade of smoky gray on the upper lid, smudge a bit and sweep the same darker shade again under the lower lashes. Apply a lighter shade to the brow bone and in the inner area. To give a final touch – add some mascara and you are done.
